What’s next for our services?

The LUMI AI Factory is building Europe’s next-generation AI ecosystem to drive research, development, and innovation. The roadmap milestones serve as anchoring points around which our services continue to evolve. By involving users and stakeholders in the design process, we ensure that their needs directly guide and shape the development of our offerings.

Near-term milestones (2025-2026)

• December 2025: Opening of the main AI Factory Hub in Espoo, Finland as the central meeting point for innovation and collaboration. It will be soon followed by AI Factory Hub in Ostrava, Czechia. 
• Early 2026: Rollout of major new core services, including:
  • Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) environment and inference service for rapid model deployment.
  • Datasets-as-a-Service to make high-value data more accessible.
  • Trustworthy AI support to help users navigate regulatory, ethical, and technical requirements.
• Later 2026: Growing service offering to cater for wider user groups, including:
  • Phased introduction of sensitive data storage and processing capabilities.
  • Launch of new AI Factory Hub satellites and virtual co-working spaces to connect users across borders.

Noteworthy longer-term milestones (2027)

• New LUMI-AI supercomputer: General availability of a powerful system designed specifically for large-scale AI workloads.
• LUMI-IQ quantum-AI environment: Launch of a pioneering platform that combines quantum computing with AI, opening entirely new frontiers for innovation.

These milestones ensure that the LUMI AI Factory develops in a structured and reliable way, steadily expanding its services while introducing new world-class capabilities.
