The service offers moderate resources for users already familiar with high-performance computing. The aim is to provide access to AI resources using a lightweight and quick process in order to allow applications to gain swift access to the LUMI supercomputer. The resources are open and free-of-charge to AI startups and SMEs for innovation purposes.

The medium computing package offers moderate resources for users already familiar with high-performance computing and for intermediate use cases, such as fine-tuning large language models.
The aim is to provide access to AI resources using a lightweight and quick process in order to allow applications to gain swift access to the LUMI supercomputer.
The medium computing package is currently offered for the EuroHPC JU partition of LUMI, within the AIF Industrial Innovation track. Access calls are continuously open and applications are processed on first-come, first-served basis. The resources are open and free-of-charge to AI startups and SMEs for innovation purposes. A limited report describing the achieved results is required.

Until the LUMI-AI supercomputer is available in 2027, LUMI AI Factory services are run on the existing LUMI supercomputer.
