Powerful AI Computing

The AI Computing services provide EU-based SMEs and start-ups, large enterprises, researchers, and the public sector substantial, production-grade access to GPU computing resources of the LUMI supercomputer. Depending on the particular service, the resources are rapidly available upon passing an eligibility and technical review and a possible peer-review evaluation based on either innovation and impact or scientific merit. The services range from small-scale experiments and scalability tests to mature projects aimed at deployment readiness and high-impact AI outcomes. The resources are free of charge for scientific or RDI purposes of eligible customers.

The computing resources are available both via the EuroHPC JU access modes and from the national partitions of the LUMI consortium countries. The duration of a computing project depends on the type of service, typically ranging from 1-12 months. The computing services are accompanied by advanced support and close collaboration with LUMI AIF experts e.g. for scaling, performance tuning, workflow design, and integration into complex pipelines. Depending on the service, there may be certain reporting requirements, such as submitting a final report on the use of the resources (excluding any confidential parts) or referencing EuroHPC JU. The ownership of all IPR, data and produced models and other outputs remains on the customer.
