Service features

Whether you already got access to the supercomputer or have only just begun planning to apply for computing resources, chances are that you are not familiar with supercomputer environment and how operate there efficiently. We want you to succeed in your development work, and with this service we provide you with both extensive online documentation and human expert support online to guide you successfully on your journey in the AI Factory.

Our online manual documentation and training materials provide you with everything you need to get up and running in the LUMI environment. You can find the documentation here:  https://docs.lumi-supercomputer.eu/ . You can study the materials on your own before you get access to LUMI.

Our experts can also help you plan your project implementation in online or on-site meetings. We help you with practical topics regarding software installation, setting up your project, verifying that you are making the best choices regarding your target, etc.

For practical everyday support in using LUMI, you have access to the LUMI user support online. We also offer separate services for more detailed and specific support, e.g. for large-scale AI model training.

Human expert support is available in separately agreed meetings during standard office hours (experts in Finland are in EET/EEST time zone, +1 hour compared to CET/CEST countries).

This service is available to you before you get access to the LUMI supercomputer, and up to the end of your project or until the mutually agreed amount of support is used.

Access/Output Requirements

• You can start planning your project with this service, but to actually do it you need to get access to LUMI. For first time users we recommend “Playground access to LUMI“, but this service is even more useful for the bigger computing services that benefit from a more detailed planning.

Target groups

Users needing help in implementing their HPC and AI project, especially first-time LUMI AI Factory users. The service is available to large business users for a separate fee.
